J. Heiden - New York (2014) |
J. Heiden - Tree (2014) |
I really do get the most satisfaction out of the beginning moment, the moment the shutter is released. From there utilizing tools on my computer; my virtual darkroom, I add layers of virtual images - sometimes creating a new reality but more often just showing a little slice of what I saw at that moment in time. It's the texture, color and depth that are my drivers. Simplicity is my inspiration, story is my goal.I love an open horizon or a lone tree, an abandoned house or an aged barn. It's this simplicity that more effectively sets the stage for narrative to begin inside the viewer's mind.
I hope my images start a story, make you stop and think of someone, someplace or sometime.
